Delivery Process

The SureColor® F2270 is shipped on a single pallet measuring 55” long by 46” wide and 36” tall, with a shipping weight exceeding 360 lbs. When the printer arrives, ensure you have a plan for moving and storing it until your technician arrives on-site.

Your installing technician will manage the unboxing and setup for you. Please leave your printer in the box, and we'll take it from there. Although we'll swiftly demonstrate this process, rest assured you're not expected to unbox and set up the printer. Our tech will handle the removal of all packaging, setting aside items and accessories that accompany the printer. You can assist by gathering a few friends to aid our tech in lifting the printer onto the table where it will be used. The printer weighs just over 200 lbs, so start making friends now whom you trust to lift your new investment.

What ships in the box with the printer?

One common question is whether the printer comes with ink. In the case of the SureColor® F2270, it indeed comes with a full set of 6 800 ml inks — 4 CMYK inks and 2 White inks. Epson also ships a 7-bag set containing Maintenance Liquid, loaded like an ink to automatically maintain the print head.

The SureColor® F2270 also ships with a Medium-sized 14” x 16” platen and hoop, the same platen that shipped with the SureColor® F2100. This platen, along with all other Epson platens, is compatible across the SureColor® F2000 line and SureColor® F3000 line. If you need larger, smaller, or specialty platens, those would be purchased separately.

Epson has included a grip pad that adheres to the platen to prevent garment movement during printing, allowing for hoop-free garment printing if preferred. You also receive a grip pad tool to smooth the garment onto the grip pad and eliminate wrinkles and creases.

The SureColor® F2270 also includes a waste ink bottle, a holder for the bottle, and tubing to connect the waste ink port on the back of the printer for periodic disposal. Your technician will take care of this critical step during installation.

The SureColor® F2270 comes with the printer maintenance kit, also called the Head Cleaning Set. The kit includes the print head fabric wiper, flushing pad, and anti-dry caps, all requiring periodic replacement depending on printer use. You can monitor the remaining life for each item from the printer’s LCD panel.

What doesn't come with the printer?

Beyond these items in the box, the printer comes with two additional components not in the box. First, it comes with a 1-year warranty covering all parts and labor, extendable up to 5 years. Second, it includes Epson Garment Creator 2 software, downloadable from Epson’s website, with installation assistance and training provided by your technician. This second-generation garment creator features faster processing times, higher resolution capability for fine details visible on DTF film prints, and a streamlined DTF workflow for switching between DTG and DTF prints.

Printer Footprint

Let's take a moment to explore the footprint of the new SureColor® F2270 DTG. Epson meticulously designed this printer to be as compact and efficient as possible. The difference in depth compared to the previous generation SureColor® F2100 is noticeable. The SureColor® F2270 requires X x X as a footprint, with the ability to operate the printer against a wall on either side. This is another benefit compared to previous Epson DTG printers and other current DTG competitors.

EPSON SureColor F2270 vs. SureColor F2100

In the ever-evolving world of direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, Epson has once again raised the bar with the introduction of its latest model, the SureColor F2270. As the successor to the renowned SureColor F2100, the industry's best-selling DTG printer, the F2270 promises significant advancements in productivity, workflow, and overall performance. Below, we'll delve into the key distinctions between these two printers, exploring their DTF workflow, speed, quality, and feature enhancements to help you make an informed decision on the best fit for your business.

Increased Productivity: Faster Print Speeds and Streamlined Workflow

One of the primary focuses of the Epson SureColor F2270 is to enhance overall productivity, and this is evident in the significant improvements made to print speeds and workflow efficiency.

Print Speed Comparison

In our side-by-side testing, the SureColor F2270 demonstrated a clear advantage in print speeds, particularly when it came to light garments. The data showed that the SureColor F2270 was over a minute faster in printing light shirts compared to the SureColor F2100, a testament to the advancements made in the Garment Creator 2 software and the larger print head.

While the differences were less pronounced on dark shirts and direct-to-film (DTF) prints, the SureColor F2270's improved processing capabilities still resulted in faster overall print times. It's important to note that print times can vary depending on the size of the image and quality settings, so we recommend thorough testing to find the optimal settings for your specific garments.

Streamlined DTF Workflow

Another notable enhancement in the SureColor F2270 is the improved direct-to-film (DTF) workflow. The new Garment Creator 2 software includes a quick toggle option, allowing operators to easily switch between DTG and DTF printing modes. This feature reduces the risk of operator errors, as the display clearly indicates whether the printer is set to print on a garment or film.

Additionally, the SureColor F2270 boasts an automatic platen height adjustment, which uses sensors to detect the thickness of the garment or film and automatically adjusts the platen height for optimal quality. This streamlined process eliminates the need for manual adjustments, saving time and reducing the potential for errors, especially when switching between shirts, panels, and film.

Enhanced Print Quality: Improved Ink Vibrancy and Opacity

While productivity enhancements are a significant focus, Epson has also made strides in improving the overall print quality of the SureColor F2270. The introduction of the new GG2 ink set has resulted in noticeable improvements in color vibrancy and opacity, particularly in the whites.

In our side-by-side comparisons, the SureColor F2270 prints showcased more vibrant and saturated colors, with the orange hue standing out as a clear example. Additionally, the whites appeared more opaque and consistent, requiring less post-processing or additional tweaking to achieve the desired result.

These quality improvements can have a direct impact on the final output, allowing for more vibrant and eye-catching designs that can elevate your customers' garments and enhance their overall satisfaction.

Compact and Modular Design

The Epson SureColor F2270 also features a more compact and modular design compared to its predecessor, the SureColor F2100. This updated form factor can be particularly beneficial for businesses with limited space or those looking to optimize their production workflow by arranging the printer in a more efficient manner, especially while using multiple printers within your workflow.

The reduced footprint of the SureColor F2270 can also contribute to a more streamlined and organized workspace, helping to improve overall efficiency and workflow management.

Ink Costs

Regarding ink costs, the SureColor F2100 comes in at 36 cents per milliliter, while the F2270 is slightly more economical at 34 cents per milliliter. This marginal difference in ink costs can add up over time, especially for high-volume operations, making the SureColor F2270 a potentially more cost-effective option in the long run.
