Techkon SpectroPlate All-Vision Plate Reader

Hi-Resolution, Multi-Function, and Fast.

The Techkon SpectroPlate is a high-resolution, multi-functional digital microscope that measures dot percentage, screen angles, lines per inch/cm, dot gain and AM, FM or hybrid screens of traditional offset or process-less, chemistry-free printing plates. It features the highest accuracy possible utilizing a CMOS color matrix sensor which also ensures repeatability at +/- 0.5%. The SpectroPlate digital microscope for offset printing plates is also extremely fast. A single measurement takes just 1 second.

Best in Class

Precise measurement of the right dot transfer on offset printing plates is a key component of comprehensive quality control in the printing industry. Techkon’s printing plate measurement solution, SpectroPlate, is the best microscopic image capture and processing instrument in its class. It unifies all advantages of modern measurement technology in a compact, handheld device. SpectroPlate can read any screen size and screen technology. Its spectrally white illumination and dynamic color evaluation permits reading of all kinds of plate types and coated surfaces. Measured color values and transfer curves are displayed and stored and all measurement data can be used directly for linearizing a RIP powered plate processor. One exceptional feature is the ability to enlarge the view of the microscopic images.

For standard and process-less plates

SpectroPlate is available in three different types of performance packages. An entry-level model is for dot percentage measurements on all popular types of printing plates, film and CMYK prints. The Expert version additionally features the ability to record complete transfer curves and analyze geometric objects right within the device. The All-Vision model features additional IR illumination for use on both standard and chemistry-less, process-less plates. While the entry model can be upgraded to the Expert version with a firmware upgrade post purchase, the All-Vision model features unique hardware and cannot be upgraded later.

FAQ

  1. Is SpectroPlate a portable device?
Yes, it is a compact and mobile unit with an integrated LCD graphic display which shows the measurement data and the enlarged microscopic image.
  2. Can dot percentage values be transmitted directly into RIP applications?
Yes, just connect SpectroPlate via the USB connection to a Windows PC and use the supplied software SpectroPlate Connect to send the measurement data pre-formatted directly into the RIP application in order to linearize a platesetter.
  3. How is SpectroPlate so accurate?
It is a combination of a high precision optical system and the use of sophisticated image processing algorithms. By internally calibrating each device in the factory to the accurate offset plate reference FMB from the renown research institute fogra, SpectroPlate units have an excellent inter-instrument agreement.
  4. What about maintenance?
SpectroPlate is maintenance free. It is designed to work in harsh industrial environments. Since there are no moving parts, there is no wear and tear.
  5. Why can SpectroPlate handle all different types of offset plates?
Thanks to the spectral broadband sample illumination and the dynamic color image selection high contrast images for all different plate materials ensure high measurement quality.
